EBTA International Task-group (ICT) organizes a Summer Camp, where some senior SFBT practitioners share their professional know-how with younger practitioners, who want to promote solution-focused thinking and practices in their work and life surrounding.

Some younger practitioners expressed during the Vienna conference 2015 their hope that EBTA would promote ways for the older SF generation to be mentors for them. A Summer Camp offers a good way to do this in a relaxed atmosphere and place with enough time to reflect and share.

Essex County Council's Essex Social Care Academy (ESCA) and the Divisional Based Intervention Team (DBIT) are delighted to invite you to our second national conference on Solution Focused Practice.

This event will focus on Solution Focused practice within families. That means all families and all members of those families. We will be offering a wide range of Solution Focused workshops including working with speech and language difficulties, school inclusion, children on the edge of care, working with couples,
reunification, mental health in schools, adolescents, children and adults with additional needs, older people and more.

There will be something for everyone in addition to our keynote speeches from Chris Iveson of BRIEF and Elliott Connie who we are delighted is flying in from the United States especially for this event. The day is open to professionals from all care settings including health, education and social care, in the public, private and voluntary sectors. We want to develop a conference ethos that is both collective and interactive. We welcome submissions from groups of two or more, and whether you are submitting as an individual or a group, we want what you offer to have a strong interactive element.

We also want to encourage submissions from people who have something to share – some research, a project, an idea – that doesn’t immediately lead to interactive activity. We will then have an option of bringing such submissions together into coherent groupings, to enable discussion and the cross-fertilisation of ideas.

1: RESEARCH
EBTA along with SFBTA have for years supported researc in Solution Focused practice, both on a quite practical level and concrete research projects. Research related to the Solution Focused approach, not only document and validate the approach and practice, but also helps spread the word of SF. This conference theme puts highlight on new research results, provide a setting for upcoming researchers to meet and talk, and to create a platform for practitioners to talk about, how we in the future of Solution Focused practice can learn and benefit from the research of today - and best of all, how can we support the research of tomorrow.

2: PRACTICE AROUND EUROPE
“Back to the futures” is the name of this conference. When you look back, you find that you were once in “the land of choices”, and beeing there provided the opportunity to create many kinds of future. And you chose one. This conference theme can be seen in the same way: once the solution focused approach was developed by Steve and Insoo, and some similar ideas by Luc Isebaert and Korzybski Institute. BRIEF in London have simplified the approach the most, others have combined SF with EMDR, or Marte Meo and others have been influenced by hypnoses or ideas from Wittgenstein, Ericsson or…. This track is an opportunity for everyone to become familiar with “what’s going on at my neighbors house” or “I’ll show you, what I’ve developed”.

3: FROM THE PAST TO THE FUTURE
The Solution Focused approach was developed in the ‘80, and ever since practitioners over the world have set their fingerprints on the approach by adding on new elements, deleted others or integrated ideas from other approaches e.g. Today there’s a variation of fields of practice. Wonder how Solution Focused will look like in 10 or 20 years, and wonder what you will be seeing practitioners be doing in order to say; wauw, they’re working from a solution focused approach. This conference theme will focus on the basic assumptions of Solution Focused practice in order to define - if possible - the core of the approach, thus we in the future can identify solution focused practice. What do you need to see me be doing for you to say, I’m working in a Solution Focused way?"

...wir dich entweder am Freitagnachmittag zu einem kulinarischen Stadtspaziergang in Chur oder dann am Samstagmorgen im Foyer der PH Graubünden begrüssen dürften.

Der Tag ist kostenlos (wir, organisator:innen widerstanden der Versuchung, nur darum einen Preis festzulegen, damit "es was wert ist". Es ist VIEL wert und einige machen einen langen Weg, um hierher zu kommen.

🇵🇱 2023 EBTA Conference: EXPLORING RESILIENCE – SF quests!School Humanitas, Jana Kilińskiego 43, 41-200 Sosnowiec, Poland"
We will explore how a solution-focused brief therapy (approach) promotes the creation of spaces and contexts that enhance the remedial potential of clients who face the after-effects of difficult experiences. We also would like to highlight the topic of "help the helpers", i.e., how helpers can also take care of themselves. The topic seems to us particularly significant when many specialists reacting to Russia's attack on Ukraine undertook the difficult task of working with crisis intervention strategies, trauma, and loss. Part of the specialists, who help others, are refugees from Ukraine and victims of the war.

We deeply hope that the Conference of the European Brief Therapy Association will be a place for meetings, exchanging experiences, and mutual learning for specialists from Poland, , and all over Europe. We are looking forward to meet specialists from Ukraine who are currently working in Poland."
