It started with a group of 6 enthousiastic SF Practitioners in Switzerland. The mixture of learning, sharing and relaxing together has proven to be successful and very inspiring! It’s one of the best means to fully recharge your batteries!

Following Steve de Shazer’s quote “look at what works and do more of it” we will once again gather with a group of enthusiastic Solution Focused practitioners to connect, inspire, be inspired and fully energized while learning about SF through friendly Open Space exchange, relaxing in the summertime, enjoying the peace and calm of a beautiful venue.

May we invite you to www.moeschberg.ch, a family owned small seminar hotel on top of the hill with a stunning view. This place is just perfect with flexible workshop spaces and a large garden. You will enjoy the hospitality, a wonderful tasty cuisine and the quiet of the mountains (with just a few cows grazing around). The inn can accommodate just around 30 people and will be reserved for us, Retreaters.

As for the program:  we’ll keep the well-proven flexible Open Space formula throughout the Retreat. For those who have not been yet to a retreat: Do you have creative, innovative, playful SF practices to share? Are you looking for supportive partners for professional ideas you are about to develop? Do you have questions you want to discuss with colleagues who have had vast experience in SF work? Come to the Retreat! We all have SF in common, so: trust that the right people will be there to create the right moment so that the right things can happen – in the workshops and in-between them!

2009 fand an der Personal Austria & Professional Learning mit der "Lösungsinsel" der allererste ASC-Auftritt statt, Barack Obama trat als erster afro-amerikanischer Präsident sein Amt an und die Gemeine Wegwarte wurde Blume des Jahres. Vieles hat sich in der Zwischenzeit getan, auf der Welt, in der lösungsfokussierten Praxis, im ASC, bei jeder und jedem von uns.

An der ASC-Jahrestagung 2019 feiern wir all unsere vielfältigen Entwicklungen und zelebrieren gemeinsam die Vielfalt und die Verbundenheit dank Lösungsfokus. The aim of the Retreat is: Nourishing your SF roots to enable your SF Flourishing

Imagine a time and place for you…

  • Where you can care for and nurture YOU - in whatever ways you feel would be most helpful during the Retreat period... 
  • Where you can take time to reflect on your SF practices - personal and professional - by yourself, supported by others...

This year, we have planned it so that the Retreat will include the SF24 Conference; which is taking place on the 5th-6th August. We hope that participants in the Retreat will see this as an opportunity to include and support that event as part of their own Retreat planning.

The Retreat is an opportunity to meet other SF practitioners in an informal environment so that we learn more about how we each think and apply SF in our work and lives. And to co-create a joyful, easeful environment for all to think, learn, share, play, take care of self and others."

1: RESEARCH
EBTA along with SFBTA have for years supported researc in Solution Focused practice, both on a quite practical level and concrete research projects. Research related to the Solution Focused approach, not only document and validate the approach and practice, but also helps spread the word of SF. This conference theme puts highlight on new research results, provide a setting for upcoming researchers to meet and talk, and to create a platform for practitioners to talk about, how we in the future of Solution Focused practice can learn and benefit from the research of today - and best of all, how can we support the research of tomorrow.


2: PRACTICE AROUND EUROPE
“Back to the futures” is the name of this conference. When you look back, you find that you were once in “the land of choices”, and beeing there provided the opportunity to create many kinds of future. And you chose one. This conference theme can be seen in the same way: once the solution focused approach was developed by Steve and Insoo, and some similar ideas by Luc Isebaert and Korzybski Institute. BRIEF in London have simplified the approach the most, others have combined SF with EMDR, or Marte Meo and others have been influenced by hypnoses or ideas from Wittgenstein, Ericsson or…. This track is an opportunity for everyone to become familiar with “what’s going on at my neighbors house” or “I’ll show you, what I’ve developed”.

3: FROM THE PAST TO THE FUTURE
The Solution Focused approach was developed in the ‘80, and ever since practitioners over the world have set their fingerprints on the approach by adding on new elements,  deleted others or integrated ideas from other approaches e.g. Today there’s a variation of fields of practice. Wonder how Solution Focused will look like in 10 or 20 years, and wonder what you will be seeing practitioners be doing in order to say; wauw, they’re working from a solution focused approach. This conference theme will focus on the basic assumptions of Solution Focused practice in order to define - if possible - the core of the approach, thus we in the future can identify solution focused practice. What do you need to see me be doing for you to say, I’m working in a Solution Focused way?"

Di 3.🌐 Using Solution Focused ideas in life"The Journal of Solution Focused Practices (JSFP) is a free online resource, available to all. While it is a peer-reviewed journal aimed at an academic audience, it is also a source of all kinds of information, inspiration and ideas which can be used in many settings.

In this free one-hour session on SF World Day (3rd May) Rayya Ghul (University of Edinburgh, UK), Mark McKergow (SFWork, UK) and Anton Stellamans (Ilfaro, Belgium) will each be picking a paper from the journal and, with the aid of some very special guests, be showing how they use Solution Focused (SF) ideas in ‘everyday life’. That means not therapy, coaching or professional helping – it’s about how we go about tackling the challenges, the ups-and-downs that life presents us."
